thebiscuit
Recently my computer broke, so I installed the latest version of sonicstage on a different computer. Previously, I had been transferring all my music to my NW-HD3 mp3 player perfectly fine, with no problems. This was on version 3.3 of sonicstage, now, with version 4.0 of sonicstage on the other computer it no longer works. The error message I receive is as follows:The connected ATRAC Audio Device cannot be used with the currently installed SonicStage. To use with the currently installed SonicStage, you must delete all tracks in the ATRAC Audio Device or initialize the hard disk of the ATRAC Audio Device. Now, I have 8gb of music on my mp3 player and dont really fancy going through the issues of importing it from all the CDs again to transfer across. Furthermore, the initialize option in SonicStage when I go to controls is greyed out, so I don't know how to initialize the hard disk either.I'm just hoping for either:A ) A solution that will allow me to once again transfer music across without formattingB ) A way to backup the music on the mp3 player - I notice I could transfer all the data from the hard disk through windows to my computer's hard disk, but after formatting the mp3 player could I transfer this back and have it working fine? Thanks in advance Edited October 18, 2006 by Ishiyoshi
Dinko
A ) A solution that will allow me to once again transfer music across without formattingDepending on whether you need access to the CONNECT music store, you may wish to download the Asian version of SonicStage 4.0 I used to get the same error message as you got until I finally installed the Asian version. I no longer need to reformat my device whenever I have a PC bug or reinstall the software.B ) A way to backup the music on the mp3 player - I notice I could transfer all the data from the hard disk through windows to my computer's hard disk, but after formatting the mp3 player could I transfer this back and have it working fine? That's what I used to do before:(1) create a new folder on my hard drive(2) via Windows Explorer copy everything from the device (HD1) into the new folder(3) delete the SonicStage library(4) import the folder to SonicStage(5) transfer to deviceI did it three times. It worked with the HD1 using ATRAC files. But... it was all on the same computer. I have no idea if it will work on a different PC.
