Anyone here have experience with these headphones? I was reading some reviews on CNET and they seem to be pretty good. Looking for some mid to high end headphones to use with my Pocket Vaio. They retail for about $230 CDN at Futureshop. Are these worth the money?

Also considering Sony MDR-XD200's. I know they're totally at opposite ends of the spectrum, but these looking pretty good for their price ($40 CDN)

the 700dj are definitely stylish, have deep bass and good power handling. some people seem to have problems with the swivel mechanism breaking, but if you're not a dj and don't use that motion alot then i don't think it would be a problem.

here's a link you might find interesting:

Minidisc Canada

if you are intent on sticking with sony headphones, i would recommend MDR-7506

you can also google Sony MDR-V6, which are nearly identical and use the same drivers. these headphones have been very popular within the broadcasting/recording industry. they are light, foldable/portable, durable/reliable, and have a good sound. also they work well with portable audio devices. many US online retailers sell MDR-7506 and MDR-V6 for under $100USD. i own the V6 and love them. ordered from US cheap, but got hit with duties from canada customs  that drove the cost to about $180CAD, but that was also back when the exchange rate really sucked.

well.. good luck with your headphone search!

I just got these headphones and they sound unbelievable paired with my A818! However, I think they sounded much much better after burning in, because i noticed high frequencies that weren't really smoothed out so to speak. When these phones are hooked up to an amp, damn they literally shake on your head and don't distort at high volumes. I was only able to handle 50% and during this time, and you could literally feel air being pushed to your ear from the the bass, thus the vibration. Treble is great as with midrange IMO, so i love these headphones!
