0 ShanieAIBO
Well going by your specs on your current PC, the P series should run faster. The P series is faster than netbooks, and can handle a couple of windows a the same time. The P series has been tested on Windows 7 (beta) and boots up in a minute appose to the 2.80 min on Windows Vista and runs much faster and can have more programs running at one time. You could also downgrade to Windows XP if need be, but when Windows 7's full release comes out, (September) it would be a good thing to install that instead if you wish it to run faster. Hope this helps.
0 Juan Esteban
Hi,the vaio P IS SLOW. I can not work with excell files, but keeping all other applications turned of.just excell alone, and it takes minutes, not to say hours, to complete simple tasks.I had read that is supposed that WINDOWS 7 improves the performance of the machine...???The funny thing is that I bought the vaio just a month ago, I have nothing on the hard disck, I had dowloaded only skype, msn, google talk and google earth. nothing more than this.and the performance is VERY POOR.Please, tell me what can I do to IMPROVE performance? If I can not solve this problem, I'll have to go back to my old but always trustable HP PAVILION.thanks.Juan .

0 ShanieAIBO
Hi,I had posted a question and got no answers from the administrators.why the vaio p is TOO SLOW and what can I do to improve performance now?Thanks.Juan.Like I had said, its Windows Vista being a hog to the hardware, leaving none left for software for some programs. The easiest thing for you to do is to upgrade to Windows 7 in October, Sony are going a update program right now where you can get Windows 7 for free (just the P&P fee) just make sure you have registered your VAIO online with Sony and they will email you asking if you wish to upgrade to Windows 7 in October.http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/vaio-p-...more-windows-7/ This article shows how much better the P-Series performs running on beta Windows 7.http://club.vaio.sony.eu/clubvaio/GB/en/windows7/index.htm - European site for the Windows 7 VAIO upgrade program.Hope this helps.
