Question

I have recently bought a second hand Sony Walkman NW-A3000 and have had nothing but problems with it since Day 1. Can someone help with the following few problems.

1. When I connect the player to my PC via the USB cable I get a message saying that the device connected to the PC has encountered an error and that windows cannot recognize it. I sometimes can get the player to be recognized by the connect software but this is 1 in a 100.

2. I have recently transferred 400+ songs on to the player, but when I turn the player on I can see the album titles and the artist names, but when i drill down to the song listings the page is blank.

3. I have 1 song available to me when I turn the player on, but when i press play on the player it plays for about 2 secs and then no sound at all, even though the timer for the song still seems to e counting.

4. The player I have freezes for no apparent reason all the time.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

This is so frustrating.

It might be worth checking your firmware (go to Home Menu-Settings-Unit Information) - version 3.0 is recommended for using the A3000 with SonicStage.

If you have an older version, you can download version 3.0 from the Sony site or from elsewhere on this site and install it yourself. You may find you have to re-transfer all your music after upgrading it (I would do this anyway to be on the safe side), but this should not take too long for 400 songs.

Another common cause of problems is using SonicStage in a PC account that does not have Administrator status.
