Hi there!

I've just taken a delivery of a brand new PC with Vista installed on it. Downloaded and installed SS 4.3 with no problems, opened it up, connected my NW-A3000 walkman via a USB port (NOT a USB hub!), SS shows my device and all my albums, however when I try to select/browse/play the albums on the device, it flashes up with a 'device not connected' warning, then reloads the device info. In short, the device connection is not stable - Can't do any transferring to the device because of this.

Checked in Windows Explorer and I can see the device there. It's just through SS that it loses the connection.

Have seen other similar posts on this, but they talk about initialising the device, not keen to do this as have 6,000+ songs on there, none of which on the new PC (so would have to re-import from cds).

Please help!!

I don't know if your problem is specific to SonicStage 4.3. My experience with Atrac devices is that they will only work with one computer at a time unless you authorize your computers and devices through your Connect account. Once you do that you should be able to download and move music between the two computers using registered Atrac devices. Once you have things properly registered you should not need to initialize your A3000 to connect it to your new computer. If the music files on the A3000 do not have copy protection, the .oma files can be imported into SS on your new computer by using the A3000 as a portable hard drive and simple locating the .oma files on it using the import folder function in SS, but I don't think you can transfer anything to the A3000 without registering both it and the new computer (unless you initialise it -- i.e. erase everything on it)
