Problem: NW-A3000 not detected by Connect

Hi,

I browsed this forum but I don't seem to find my problem here.

I just bought a Sony NW A3000 and the first time I connected it to the computer (after installing Connect software), the program showed the files in my friend's player instead of my own player. My friend had installed Connect in my computer previously, but I uninstalled it and today I installed it again in order to connect my new player. But since the files it showed were not mine, I did something in the Preferences tab (I don't remember, but I think it was the "Remove device from the player option"). Since then, my player isn't recognized by Connect, and in my Windows Explorer the drive is completely empty (and it wasn't before). I tried uninstalling the software, I tried "Initialize Disk" and "Reset all Settings" in my player... and nothing. Besides, when I safely remove the drive from my computer, the player's display shows something like "No Database found. Please connect compliant software".

When I connect the player to my computer, something appears in Connect's status bar, saying "NW A3000 Reading data 0%", but then the player doesn't appear anywhere in the program, probably because the drive is completely empty...

Now I don't know what to do, because I thought that the restoring or resetting of the device should put the folders where they should be... any suggestions?

I already solved the problem by uninstalling the software and deleting the registry values. After that, I uninstalled a program, open mg secure module, and after that I installed the player again... and it worked! Then, to avoid any more confusions, I changed the name of my player, so now I can tell which one is mine and which one is my friend's player.

I don't understand why they have that "remove" button either, it's really stupid...
