Question

I have just purchased an NWA-3000 despite all the bad publicity about the software. I was really interested in the audio quality, capacity and functionality.

I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed. My inclination is to install sonicstage 4.3 and not bother with Connect. I will then apply the firmware update (it is currently 2.1) and volume hack. All this before transferring any music.

Most of my files are WMA with a few MP3 (no DRM - I am aware of the limitations there) - will this present any issues?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

I think you're spot-on for all of the above. Don't install Connect, ugrade SS, hack for volume & then transfer music. Get that all done & you're set.
