Question

I have this mp3 player Sony NW-A3000, and have used the software Connect player. But thats a while back in time I used the program, or entered some music in to my mp3 player. So I'm back to use it, but I see that there is an new software program for the player, and that atraclife forum is closed, and if I understand right that the atrac format is closed to, or not in use anymore.

Can someone tell me something about what hapend. And are am abel to use my NW-A3000 mp3 player anymore. I feel litle lost, because it's so long time since I used the software, and the player.

Sony decided to stop using ATRAC audio format for their new models (except in Japan for the moment). This only means that new models won't be able anymore to play ATRAC files. But this doesn't change anything on your player.

You can continue using ConnectPlayer (or SonicStage 4.3) to transfer music (ATRAC included) to your player.

But since Sony is no longer maintaining its own ATRAC format, it is advised to not use it. If you want to rip CD, just use MP3 (or whatever you want, but not ATRAC).

And, if you experience any problem with ConnectPlayer or SonicStage, you can test an alternative called JSymphonic.
