NW-A1000 Startup problems

Hi all.. glad to found this forum..

I'm having problems with my a1000 recently.. i've updated to the latest firmware but its still happening

1. its difficult to turn on after 2-3 days of no use. after turning on the player, it will display "good day,..." for a few seconds, and then turn off again automatically. i will then have to turn it on again, which it then turns off automatically again.... sometimes it will take about 10 or more tries before it turns on to the playing menu. is it hard disk problems or battery?

2. sometimes during play, in the middle of a song, it just went quiet. the icon still shows play, but the time bar is not moving. its not just specific to one song cos sometimes the song plays ok. i will then have to shut down the player (the option & back button is functioning) and press the play button for it to continue playing the song.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

I will suggest yopur to seek some help from Sony regading this problem ?

Also ,Try to Reflash the player with the latest Fimware again ?

If under warranty, get help from Sony. If not, try defragmenting the A1000 hard disk, or re-initiate the hard disk at last resort

i'm afraid its out of warranty.. have tried defragging but its still happening.. then i guess i'll have to reinitialize the disk.. . wish me luck..
