Question

Hi All

Has anybody succeeded in opening the NW A3000 without damaging it? It seems that first I need to remove the circle part with sony logo at at the back but I don't think it can be done without ruining this part. I've tried but no success just scratched it. Can the front cover be removed without breaking it? From where can I buy parts for my sony just incase I ruin it. Sooner or later I'm going to need to open it to replace the battery so if someone succeeded kindly help with your advice. Thanks

Before some days i finally opened my NW-A3000 and cleaned it! YEAH!! NOW IT'S COOL!!!

xm so about opening it. I firstly opened it from behind like the guide "how to open nw-a1000" but no luck. Those plastic cubic things referred for NW-A1000 wasn't there. After looking nw-a3000 for couple of minutes about how can i disassemble it and things like that, i noticed the open points.

Because i don't have screen i'll try to draw it.

So in <these> spots (the underscores) there are clips that hold the mask...if you are strong enough you can just press player's mask from left and right and then pull out the mask (here you 'll need nails so put them between mask and the silver body and pull the mask)

This thing can be done without removing the back cover.

For me the easiest thing was to open the back cover, crack-break one clip...then the front cover will pop out more easy if you press it from that side (broken clip side). If one side is out, then the other will continue easy also.

Don't worry about the broken clip.Front cover will zip like new.

I opened off the front cover without any tools. Just a thumbnail. The top and bottom are slightly easier to pry open. So start at the bottom right and move clockwise with your nail, all around the 4 sides. Don't force it at any point. If you go around a few times it will loosen the cover. Then start prying the bottom up a bit more. Take it slowly and you'll open it easily. No need for removing sony badge from the back or any of what's in the post above.
