Hi, so today I bought a new NW-806, and I installed the software (one cd, with SonicStage and Image Converter 3.

Before I had some mp3 from sony, that used SonicStage, so there was an older version of sonic stage on my pc.. I connected my NW-A806 to my pc and the old SonicStage opened, Then I installed the software witch was coming with my NW-A806... When I installed it, I didn't uninstall the older SonicStage version... Then when the install was completed I rebooted my pc... Then I started my SonicStage, but it din't find my device, so the program was closing with this sine - h.bmp_84617.jpg...

So I tryed to add some video files trough Image Converter 3, and that was succesfull, so there is some problem with my sonicstage, does Any one have any ideas?? Sorry if my topic is posted in bad place, but I'm desprete.. :(((

So my problem is that my SonicStage thinks that my NW-A806 isn't connected..

It's possible that while installing SonicStage 4.3 from the bundled CD-ROM (over the older version), the latest set of Sony Personal Audio Driver (from SonicStage 4.3) did not install as it should. In any case, you may want to uninstall, clean out registry entries related to SonicStage and reinstall SonicStage 4.3 by reviewing instructions outlined within this guide. Good luck and report back if the problem still persists.

Ouh god.. I'm soo mad, all my day is by trying to setup the sonicstage, but nothing..

I deleted all registry files for Sony and Sony corporation, then uninstalled SonicStage, then rebooted the pc, and installed the software again, but nothing, Can't find the device..

Try connecting your A806 with another USB port (important especially if you are employ a USB hub). In addition, you may want to give this solution (from our SonicStage Software FAQ) a try:

Device Detection Issue - WALKMAN device not detected by SonicStage CP, although it is detected by the computer.

Ensure that the WALKMAN device in question was not formatted via the computer; rather a format should be conducted via the software or the menu of the WALKMAN. If your WALKMAN was formatted with Windows Explorer it will not be detected by SonicStage. To resolve the device detection issue try the following:

  1. you will need to initialize the WALKMAN. To do so, please refer to the user manual of your WALKMAN.

    or

  2. ensure that you are not employing a USB hub. If so, please try and connect your Walkman to another USB port.

    or

  3. Restart in 'SAFE Mode', press 'start' --> press 'run' --> type 'regedit' and press enter --> locate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\sptd --> set start value of DWORD to 4 (disable, set to 0 to enable it again) --> restart PC
Note: Method 3 is especially useful if Deamon tools not working properly - the driver (SPTD) for the virtual CD-ROM resulted in misallocation of drive letters.

If anyone else has a plausible solution for eregi, please do chime in.
