Question

Hi all!

I have had my NW-A808 for a couple of days now, and I am in love with it!

When, I first plugged the player into my PC, the first thing I did was make sure that I made a backup of all the folders and files that originally came with the player. Just today, I was playing around with SonicStage and managed to delete some of my tracks from the player - including the ones that originally came with it!

My question is:

1) If I format the player will they (the original files) come back? (I doubt they will)

2) If not, if I format the player and copy all the folders back (from my backup) will the player still operate properly without any complications?

Please reply urgently - Thanks a lot in advance!

Okay, so I just decided to format and straight away, copy all the folders that I had previously backed up (when I connected the player for the first time).

They seem to be working fine and so does everything else. However, I'm still worried that this might not have been a good move, can anyone advise me whether what I did was okay?

Thanks

I also deleted the demo tracks and was not as wise as you, I didn't even think to make a backup of all the folders, so good thinking! I imagine if you're having no problems with it, it's probably fine. I think you'd have had problems immediately otherwise. I'm sure someone else will confirm this for you either way :)

I just don't want to hurt my new Walkman

I'm sure you haven't hurt it at all, it sounds like you did exactly the right thing to restore your missing tracks. It's unbelievable that I didn't think to back up the folders right at the start. . . hope there was nothing crucial was on there

Anyway, I think your 808 has found a good home with a nice responsible owner
