NW-A806 - Sound Issue

Hi, I have a NW-A806 and when i put my volume over 20/30 the sound starts to get wierd. With clear bass on at this volume, when ever there is bass in the song that plays, the sound would go noticeably softer then when there is no bass the sound would go loud again. It is more noticeable as you turn up the volume or put more clear bass. Is this normal or is it because there is some sort of volume limit? Its not the earphones because i have tried different types and the same thing happens. This only seems to happen when i put on clear bass but when there is no clear bass, its normal. Can anyone please tell me whats going on and does this happen to you too?

I have never needed the volume that loud... but dug out some old speakers to try it for you. Mine did something similar to what you described, if I wasn't looking out for it I would have assumed it was the speakers. Can't help any more I'm afraid. Maybe it's a good excuse to swap your cans (I assume) for some ear canal buds.

Yes thats normal. Clear bass is the culprit here, you have to turn it down quite a lot if you want to play at that volume. clear bass is only really good for playing at normal levels 10-18 i'd say.

Clear Bass gets really soft at it's maximum level so I keep it high, but not max and listening from 16 to 25 vol., produces great results.
