I installed ml_sony.dll but it doesn't work

hi , I have a sony nw-hd3 that I'd like to manage

with winamp 5.5 instead of sonic stage.

So I installed ml_sony.dll but it doesn't work.

Winamp manages the sony like a normal usb device

and though it seems I can transfer mp3s , the sony

can't play them or even show them.

Also, I don't understand why the ml_sony.dll doesn't appear

in the plugin list (in options/preferences/medialibrary) although I put it in the plugin directory.
