Question

me and my friend was trying to fix my nw-a1000 sony walkman and my friend thought formatting it by rightclicking on the device in mycomputer and pressing format and doing a quick format through there would help, since then i cant get my pc to detect the device as before, i have reinstalled firmware 2.01 then 3.0 , still doesnt pick up, should i be able to see files in the device ? because at the moment after reinstalling firmware still nothing.

before that however connect player wasnt picking it up and sonicstage just crashes, and the case is still the same

I don't think you're supposed to format it through the computer. It's supposed to be formatted via the settings on the player.

At least that's how it works for the flash players, so I'm assuming it's the same for other units too.

Have you tried formatting it through the player settings yet?
