NW-A806 Problem with SS

Question

I have a problem with my NW-806

As I open SonicStage and connect my NW-806 i get this error:

" The connection between the device and the computer is unstable.

Disconnect and reconnect them.

If you connect the device to a different USB port and the device is still not recognized,

delete all the tracks on the device by clicking "Controls", selecting "Device/Media,"and

then selecting "Delete All Tracks." "

The version of SonicStage I am using is "SonicStage : 4.3.01.14050"

My operating system is Windows Vista

I used the same device (NW-806) and the same version SS on my old computer (Windows XP) and had absolutely no problems.

I don't use any USB hubs, I connect the device directly into the computer. All my USB ports on the computer work perfectly with other devices.

The computer recognises the NW-806 (i have no problems transferring videos using Image Converter 3, and i can even transfer music with VAIO music transfer)

Therefore I am sure there is nothing wrong with the USB connection. To fix the problem, first of all I followed the instructions on the error message, and tried deleting all tracks, but that didn't work. Then I have uninstalled SonicStage, deleted all remaining files on the drive, cleared up anything related to SonicStage on 'regedit', restarted the computer, reinstalled SonicStage and then restarted the computer again but it gave me the same error. Finally I manually formatted the player, and then reinstalled SS stage again, but no that didn't work either.

I feel like a zombie, I read all the forums i could find to solve this problem, but no chance, so any help will be really appreciated, it is really bothering me, I am starting to think that vista users cannot use SS for their NW-806, which is pretty rubbish.

Thanks in advance
