Question

Hi, I'm new here to this forum but I need help and I'm at my wits end.....

I have the SONY WALKMAN NWZ-S616F 4GB and I think it's really nice so far for pictures, mp3, and radio.. However, I can't get any video files to drag and drop into the VIDEO folder. I know that it asks for MP4 format and I have converted my video files to the MP4 format but I keep getting the error message that tells me that it's "...not supported..." and that I should convert it through Windows Media Player 11 (which won't validate for me by the way) and at this point my option buttons are "SKIP" "SKIP ALL" and "CANCEL".

I've tried everything and converted my files through different conversion software. I have even tried to copy the same specs as the default promo "Surf's Up" trailer that comes with the walkman, but to no avail.

Has anyone else had this? Am I doing anything wrong? I don't think I am.... I just want to convert my video files (and funny enough it's from the SONY cybershot camera) to my SONY walkman.

What video conversion tricks am I not doing? Any help on this would be appreciated.

thanks.

Use SUPER - http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

its free and it works very well. Too bad Sony is not shipping any conversion software with the NWZ

Use the following settings:

Output container: MP4

Output Video codec: H.264/AV

Output Audio code: AAC

(Directshow Decode is optional - I don't use it)

Only select 320:240

Aspect: 4:3

FPS: 25

Bitrate: 480 (file size decrease is a direct result) or go with 768 max (much bigger)

Options (click on H): H.264 profile is Baseline, and H.264/AVC level is 1.2

Don't touch the audio settings

Select where you want to put the output file

Drag & Drop the file(s) you want to convert

Then click Encode and wait.

I'm still having the same problem.

The settings in SUPER perfectly match the ones listed here (I've even tried a hundred or so other combinations) and I've tried converting from numerous different file formats (.avi, .wmv, .mov.) as well as trying the normal .mp4 and IPOD.mp4 and not a single movie will copy across, giving the same error message as the original poster on this thread experienced.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hello, I'm from Ukraine, I can't speack english correktly, but I'll try to help you. I was hewing the same problem, and I find out of it. You have read about "SUPER" and I must to say that you must only download it and follov the next instruktion:

Output container: MP4

Output Video codec: MPEG-4

Output Audio code: AACLC

(Directshow Decode is optional - I don't use it)

Only select 128:96

Bitrate kbps 528

thats oll (converted videos save in folder vith program "super" for most users it looks like : my computer/system C/program fiels/SUPER/OutPut)

Good luck))))
