div793
I recorded a live gig my band played through the sound guys PA Outputs, and it was all recorded, but (as i had no battery in) once we had finished, he just pulled out the power while it was writing the TOC. I read an article someone wrote about writing a scratch disk, then copying the TOC from that disc - but i havent got the hardware to do this. Does anyone have the relevant hardware and if so, could they repair the disk for me? John
Guest Anonymous
Hi, I have the kit to retrive lost recordings, I could clone a TOC onto the disc for you and hopefully sort it out. Where abouts in the world are you? I'm in the UK, I'd be willing to give it a try from anywhere, but if you can find someone closer fair enough. I have been trading minidiscs a couple of years and have plenty of references, if you think I sound a bit dodgy... 8) Anyway you can always email me: Pug@minidisct.com Cheers Pug
LostChordSearcher
I'm willing to help you out, as I have the equipment and know how to do TOC cloning. I'm in the US. You can reach me by email at ac7cfN0SPAM@yahoo.com (remove NOSPAM of course).
Bazirker
Hey where do you guys get these kits to recover TOC's and such? how much does one cost?
LostChordSearcher
Most Sony decks can be used to do TOC cloning. It's not an announced, or even necessarily intended feature, but it can be done pretty easily. Instructions are here: http://www.minidisc.org/cloning_procedure.html Although the procedure here is for a specific Sony deck, it's the same for all of them AFAIK.
