Guest Anonymous
i'm looking to buy a minidisc recorder that has analog inputs and outputs as well as a digital port (with software for a mac). i'd also like something with 2 and 4 lp modes. i don't mind buying something used, either. any suggestions? also- can a headphone jack be used as an analog out or is there a lot of information lost that way? Guest Anonymous
When you say analog out, do you mean line-out? All minidisc recorders have optical-inputs, but not all have line-outs. I've found that cranking up the volume all the way on the headphone jack works fine. You can't get an optical output on an MD unit unless you buy a stereo unit. Almost any recorder made within the past year has MDLP, meaning it has lp2 and lp4 modes. Check out the equipment browser and go find what you want on ebay. Mystyler
phillyisburning, your best be would to buy a cheap deck with optical out, like the discontinued JE770. As for Mac software, I'm not sure what you want but Sony doesn't make any MD software for Apple gear. (They did, but don't anymore)
