Guest Anonymous
my old mzr700 came with the md port dg2 (i went to the river and forgot it was in my pocket - but it still plays but not records) and now i want to use it with my newer mz-n505. but it doesnt seem to work. looks like all the necessary drivers are in there. i think... usually if i go to the "sounds and audio devices properties" and select md port dg2 i would no longer have sound from my pc speakers. all sound would come thru my headphones from my md unit. this is not the case now. i select dg2 from the drop down box and still sound comes from my pc speakers. and im not getting a signal to the md. the red light isnt even coming out of the cable like it should. im on windows xp pro. has anyone else encountered this issue? :?:
Bazirker
That shouldn't have anything to do with your md unit. A PC link like the one you have does one thing: instead of sending the audio signal to your speakers, it outputs it through the pc link's optical output instead. The computer has no idea what is being hooked onto the end of the optical output if anything at all, so a change in md unit should have no effect on your PC link. Something got changed in your computer somehow.

Bazirker
Good to hear that you got it working; did you figure out what was wrong with it?
