Guest Anonymous
I've just recently purchased an MD player (model MZ-N505) after hearing pretty good reviews from a friend of mine. I have yet to test the capabilities of the MD player because I haven't exactly made up my mind if I intend to keep it for the long run. I've read the FAQs before attempting to post here but my questions are based upon voltage compatibility and recording from DVD players and other systems. Funny how I'm from Malaysia but I ended up buying the MD player (Made in MALAYSIA) in the US. My Discman was also bought from the US and the most significant thing is the difference in voltage input. Can I use the same adaptor that I use for my Discman on the MD player? I assume it can be done but I just need confirmation. Second of all, I've read that DVDs have some sort of protection that disables audio recording onto an MD player. Does that mean it's a better bet to get digital input/output cables rather than optical input/output cables to avoid not being able to record? Lastly, can I get an MD player in Malaysia now than, let's say, 2 years ago? I'm still wondering why a technology such as the MD player has not been a fast-selling equipment, seeing that hardly anyone I know has ever heard of the word MD? Thanks a bunch! Mystyler
I have no problems recording from DVD players - you can only do it in analogue, but I have got great results. As for the power supply, as long as the voltage, mAh and polarity/size of the plug are the same, you're fine.
