Guest Anonymous
I normally am a DAT-user, and immediately made a fatal mistake when I had to use a MD for an important live-recording yesterday. I used a Sony MZ-R30 walkman with a blank minidisc to record a performance. I halted the recording during the interval and continued it afterwards, anticipating that it would continue automatically AFTER the part I already recorded. Nowto my horror I had to realize that this first part has simply been replaced by the second. Now I would like to know if the first tracks are definitely physically overwritten, or if it was possible that the walkman recorded on the still free space after it and so editing the TOC could restore my lost recording. I think with my walkman, which is my only MD-equipment, I cannot edit the TOC myself, so I would love to know first, if it was worth at all to persue this rescue operation any further. Thanks for any help in advance! Greetings from Vienna, Helmut maulwurf@surfeu.at
Bazirker
I bet the first stuff got overwritten... But, there is a chance that the md wrote the new stuff somewhere else on the disc, in which case it can be recovered with a bunch of toc tricks. http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=
