susanb
Can you transfer files from the Sony mz-n707 to PC? I want to record interviews on the minidisc and then transfer them to my PC to upload to the web as mp3 (or another format besides the Sony proprietary) for people to listen to them. Can this do that? If not, which is the right minidisc for me? Thanks, Susan

If you need to record and upload interviews get an MP3 recorder.
susanb
I was a bit confused by your answer. It looked like you showed a link from the player to the pc. But can you tell me which recorder is the best one for my needs? Thanks, Susan
Guest Anonymous
I was a bit confused by your answer. It looked like you showed a link from the player to the pc. It is NOT something MD-specific, PC can grab ANY audio output. So you just direct MD's audio output (LINE-OUT) to the computer's audio input (PC's LINE-IN) and record it. How much money are you willing to spend?
susanb
So then, if I can just grab it, why can't I convert it to mp3 or wav from the Sony format? As for how much to spend, I know this is $199 or close, so I saw the Olympus for $169 and I think it does what I'm looking for. Thanks, Susan
Guest Anonymous
So then, if I can just grab it, why can't I convert it to mp3 or wav from the Sony format? you'll be grabing realtime AUDIO input, you can save and then convert it to anything you want. If you're going to do voice recording only then Olympus DM-1 probably is the best option for you.
