Whenever I connect my Sony MDS-JE440 to the PC ( via digital optical input),an error message appears declaring ' cannot copy C41',when I press record. Is this due to SCMS, or am I missing out on performing a procedure. I have been surfing the net for a few hours now,without success. Yes,I am a newbie to MP3 to MD recording, so be gentle! Mystyler Posted February 18, 2003 Report Share Posted February 18, 2003 Yes, I'd say that SCMS would be your problem, because the C41 error message (which IS in your manual!! ) says the digitally dubbed material cannot be recorded digitally. I have no idea why this is happening, though, because I have had no problems, on my PC and my friend's. Usually soundcards ignore SCMS! (As well as trackmarks...)
