Hello everyone, i have just purchased a sony md r501. I have found a number of ways to record throung analogue, but keep coming unstuck while trying to record digitally. I have been trying to use the digital out on my sound blaster audigy with a toslink cable, but when i try to record i get the no signal message on my minidisk. Maybe there might be a problem with the audigy soundcard as also i cannot get digital sound through my yamaha tss-1 speaker system, both problems use the same digital out connection. When reading the audigy manual it states that the offending connecting is a analogue/digital out connection. Any thought or idea's would be really welcome, thanks Darryl...

Is your card just the basic audigy? If so, the digital out isn't optical, but electrical, which is what the MD needs to record digitally. Also, *if* the digital port is like those on the Live! cards, it is a proprietary port, which is designed only to work with Creative speakers...

Mystyler,

I checked that thing out last night via a link at the t-station board. Looked pretty cool, and I'm sure I'll buy it eventually.

My new priority is to make labels. woot
