Guest Anonymous
Hello, When I record analog material with my MZ-N707 minidisc recorder, I sometimes get strange noises (I assume it`s some kind of distorsion) on high volume signals. I do what the manual says, i.e. I never record at volume higher that the 8th (one before the last) bar on the display. I record from a Linn Classik system or a Linn Genki/Kolektor combo. Someone having the same problem? Should I get a deck (JB-780 or JB-980) instead of the N707? Thanks
Mystyler
It could just be the analogue signal - cracks, pops, etc are to be expected from analogue, unless you have spent $$$ on a proper setup. But do turn down the source volume a little - sometimes the signal distorts before the last bar.
Guest Anonymous
Thanks for the reply, Mystyler. As my audio equipment is from Linn (Genki/Pekin/Kolektor/LK85 and Classik), I think I have spent enough$$$$$$$ for now... I mainly use my MZ707 to record radio concert (classic and opera) - maybe I will buy a digital tuner and use digital connections instead of analog. I tried to record digitally from my CD and - miracle! - no distorsion at all!
