Guest Anonymous
Hey guys, I found this site a week ago and after searching, decided that the 707 was a good choice for me. I got it today and it is awesome. I do have a question though. I have been using USB to transfer my files, but I would like to use my optical. I have a Soundblaster Live Platinum(not 5.1) but the optical cord I that came with the 707 does not fit my live drive. The end of the optical cable is like this ----- | | __/ where as my live drive has a circular in and output jack. I was wondering if you guys knew if there was some adapter or something for the 707 to my sound blaster live platinum??? Thanks again
Sugo
I believe you have Live Drive I which does not have toslink optical out. Only Live Drive II or IR comes with toslink optical out. http://www.audiencedp.com/sbdb3.htm You can buy the above card to get optical out though. Guest Anonymous
Darn, I saw from that pic, I think what I have is the coaxial digital jacks.... So basically those coaxial jacks i have wont work for the optical?
Guest Anonymous
Hi I expect to have the same problem as I plan buying both MD and a new soundcard. What's this "TOSlink" that is often mentioned in the forums? So the plugs for optical ins/outs are not standard, and it is important exactly what kind of plugs do you have? And what if the PC and the MD device have different plugs? Does that mean that I cannot connect them at any rate?
