Sampling Rate Conversion and Sharp MDMT290

Hi

I am new to MD and new to this forum. A while ago I bought a Sharp MD recorder but couldn't record anything via the optical link, even though I have a SB Platinum with Live Drive II. So I returned it and started looking again. Somewhere I was told it could have been a problem with the sampling rate as LIve Drive II transfers at 48 KHz but Sharp records at 44.1 KHz.

I have now come across the Sharp which apparently has a sampling rate converter. Will I be fine now ?

My requirements are very basic. I need Mic input and ability to transfer recordings from my PC. Is Sharp MDMT290 a good choice ? Or should I look elsewhere ? I am based in UK. Thanks in advance.
