Guest Anonymous
I am thinking of upgrading from my Sharp MD-SR60, which I love and which has worked great over the last year for recording band rehearsals, banjo lessons, etc. The 2 features it lacks (that I care about) are (1) a way to connect directly to my computer -- except to an analog line in on my computer from the headphone jack on the MD unit, which seems a little primitive; and (2) a way to segment my tracks (is this indexing?) into new tracks that I can jump to with the press of a button. Sometimes in the heat of rehearsing, I'll forget to pause the MD recorder while we chat and go over arrangements; that means I have to fast-forward later through many minutes of blah blah blah before I get to an actual song take. It would be great to be able to go back after the fact and either delete the long expanses of useless chatter or break the track into smaller units. Is there a unit that does this? Backlit screen would be nice too. Would need the same sound quality and intuitive controls as the SR60. Don't need Net MD. Thanks a lot. Paul S. Devilbunny
Regarding 1), no MD unit can do this. As for 2), look in your owner's manual for how to split and delete tracks. Then create track marks at the beginning and end of the dead spot, and delete it.
