Guest Anonymous
I want to record music directly from a game, What equipment do I need to get the best sound? Is it better to record at SP or LP4?
KJ_Palmer
You need an optical cable, if your console has digital out, or a stereo line lead. SP always gives the best recordings under any circumstances, LP4 the worst. LP2 is a very good compromise between the two.
BJ
What console are you using (PC/Playstation/XBox)?
Guest Anonymous
Gamecube and Dreamcast. Would like to record in optical, but I'm not sure how.
BJ
I don't know if you CAN record optically, unless they have an optical out jack. I'm not familiar with either console (sorry!) but I think you can get a female RCA-to-stereo miniplug cable at your local electronic store. Plug the left and right audio cables from the game into the female RCA end of the cord, and the stereo miniplug into your MD's line in. Guest Anonymous
i doubt either has an optical out, but you kno thos white and red wires? well u can go to radioshack and buy a RCA to miniplug cable for about 3 dollars and hook it up to your Line In. i dont recommend LP4 due to the hiss/distortion/weird stereo/ etc... but if the 320minute recording time appeals to you, heck, go on ahead. just try different modes and see if the sound quality is a big deal to you. if not, then you can just use Lp4. no one's going to kill u. =D hrm. that was my first post here in this forum.. hopefully i'll be a contributive and active member of this forum =D
