Guest Anonymous
Sony 505 recording problems Hope I can get a couple of answers to very basic questions. First I have been using Sharp and Aiwa MD'd for years. Decided to buy a 505 to try Net Md and MDLP. For $79.00 I could not pass it up. Here are my issue's which I would believe to be operator error. 1) When recording digitally from my hercules xp sound card with optical out, with the sync record set to sync. this recorder seems to not sync record, it just starts when when I push record/sync instead of when the audio is present. And it doesn't shut off when audio is not present. This happens in all modes. I was wondering if it was so sensitive that it is picking up slight signals, however I used my three Sharps and my one Aiwa and they all work as they shoud I.E when audio is present/shut of when not. I did read the manual and it mentioned that I might want to turn off the g shock/anti skip, however it doesn't tell me how. 2) When I try to copy a disc thru my pc with simple burn I just keep getting recording failed error after only a minute or 2 of recording. I have reloaded the software three times and tried different c.d's and minidiscs and it happens just the same. In Sony's defense, for $79.00 it seem relatively well made and came with all needed to do what it I presume it should do well. I just would like to record low grade audio story's and need nothing except for the lp2/4 modes to sync record. Babysitting this thing during recording would suck and make me just go back to my beloved Sharps on mono mode, and curse Sony for sticking more poorly excecuted shite on the market. I hope I just don't know how to operate properly and this is not Sony trait. Hope someone can help me, Thanks
