Walkman X album art

Hello,

I have recently purchased Walkman X1060 from sony style USA, but I have one question regarding album art. Some album art do not diplay clear on the screen, meaning it has rough edges and sometimes it look grainy, I checked the album art and it is around 500x500 pixels for the orginal art and it is smooth picture

Does that have to do with the format of the pic, or the type of music format? what is the resolution that the X series uses for album cover?
