MZ-S1 Sports NetMD any good?

I am looking to replace my oldish Sony MZ-R55 and its sucky battery life with an Mz-S1 Sports Net MD. Does anyone know whether this unit is any good? I like how durable it is compared to the other units out there and how it only requires 1 AA vs the expensive and crappy bubble gum stick.

Also, does anyone know whether Sony is planning on releasing a similarly durable unit with radio tuner anytime soon? (preferrably in Canada, although I realise that this isn't likely...)

Any comments on the MZ-S1 would help! Thanks!

No sports model radio unit will be released any time soon.

You can consider the MZ-NF810 or the MZ-N610 (the new radio units that will eventually be released in Canada)

Just to tell you that if you get the sports model, you cannot use a remote for it (no remote jack)
