Guest Anonymous
My previous MD was a R70. Overall, I'm happy with it. The unit transfers music very quickly. Don't really care for the 3 checkout thing, having to store converted files on your comp, or no uploads. /rude Sony You can't record from the tuner. Nor can you use bass boost or anything with it. The FM reception was good, TV was weaker and I could barely get weather (even though other weatherband tuners could recieve it fine). (that was with the DX setting) The bundled headphones, are of course, crap. The screen is too small relative to the R70, and lacks a backlight, as does the remote. The control layout isn't as good as the R70 either. It's obvious Sony did some cost cutting. The case is plastic, not metal, and no soft case is included. The only color is blue, which is ok, but not my top pick. On the other hand, LP2 quality is excellent, probably roughly akin to a 192 or 256 kbps MP3. The transfers are fast and painless if you have a redbook audio CD. The sound quality is good as usual, but a bit weak in the bass department. Overall the unit is decent and probably worth the price. But has its shortcomings as well, most of which revolve around the cockblocking PC software side of things.
