Guest Anonymous
I'm kind of new to the minidisc world, and I just received my first portable recorder, the Sharp DR7. It's absolutely amazing, but I'm still undecisive about wether to use LP2 for listening. It's alot more convinient because I can record 2 (or even 3) albums onto one minidisc, and listen to any or all of them without having to change the disc. But is it really worth it? I havn't noticed any sound quality difference, but I'm still not sure wether it is best. What's your opinion on LP?
Guest Anonymous
You have answered your own question. You haven't noticed any difference. What does it matter what other peoples opinion is!?
KJ_Palmer
Well, yes, LP2 is surprising good, especially for portable use. Even with decks it's very acceptable, although the differences become more obvious. If you're planning on archiving material, eg. master copies or live recordings, I'd still go for SP mode, but for those portable mixes, LP2 is hard to beat. Guest Anonymous
If you plan to play back the recording with a stereo or extra-high-quality earphones, I think it's worth going for SP.
murasame_
Go for LP2. Even with very high quality ear- or headphones the difference is not that big. Which phones do you use? You said you don't hear a difference... Go for LP2 then! It's great to have 3 albums on one disc right?
Expander2000
Personaly, I prefer using Mono...! I know, I know it's a bit lame, no stereo effects but the way I see it, it's compatible with ALL minidisc machines regardless, it's technically SP mode and it does the job of putting 2-3 or 4 albums on 1 MD. After a while I tend to forget it's in Mono.
