Bazirker
This page is being moved to a more appropriate location. To record a minidisc, you need either an analog cable (looks like a cable with a headphones jack on both ends) or a TOSlink optical cable that has a minijack on one side. For the analog cable, plug one end into the line-out of the source you want to record from (if there's no line-out, a headphones jack with the volume all the way up and all the bass and treble stuff off will do) and the other end into the line-in on the minidisc recorder. Push the play button at the same time you flip the record switch on the mindisc recorder and the recorder will record whatever the source is playing. When you're done, hit stop. For recording digitally using the TOSlink optical cable, plug the fat, square end into an optical output and the skinny end into the line-in on the mindisc unit. Look for a switch on the minidisc recoreder that says "syncho rec" and turn it to "on." Now, hit record on the minidisc unit, then push play on your device. Digital recording sounds better, it seperates all tracks for you, and is easier to record with. However, you're less likely to have an optical-out jack to record with. Analog recordings make track marks (start new tracks) when you push the "T Mark" button or when the unit detects two or more seconds of silence. Hope that helps!
