Guest Anonymous
The subject says it all. I'm going to an Acoustic show on Friday, in a relatively small club (1000 people). I need to buy an MD recorder for it. What are some recommendations? Any tips I should know about where I should record? What kind of level should I set the recorder at? Anything else I'm not thinking of? Thanks!
Guest Anonymous
Get a sharp recorder if you can - but you probably can't, at least not by Friday. In that case, get a Sony recorder with a mic in - the 707 was popular, now the 710 is the replacement, but you might see either in a store. Learn to set the recording level. Unfortunately, with the Sony, you can't adjust while recording - you have to pause it. So make a good guess and adjust it if you need to. Get an appropriate mic. As a last minute thing, you might have to go to Radio Shack - it still should sound good. I'd recommend a stereo omnidirectional mic. Cardoid mics require you to point the mic at the speakers, which is probably too much of a pain. Put the mic(s) somewhere where they won't get brustled against. Guest Anonymous
I've got a sony mzn707, and if I had to change my md, I think I won't buy this again... I don't know for the 710, but the 707 hasn't any sensitivity switch... I recorded 2 shows with it , and the mini disc was overloading. and...the first of the two shows was...an acoutic set . :? so.... :!:  ps: you can change the recording level while recording with the mzn707...
