Guest Anonymous
I just got back from taping my first show tonight and it went pretty good. I'm using Sound Pro CMC-4 Omnis w/battery box and the rolloff set to 107 Hz (though I'm using my line-in so the actual rolloff is less). The first band came out great and I can't complain at all about the sound. The last 2 didn't come out as good. They were both louder bands, but I'm getting distortion on the bass drum. I don't think the distortion is caused by the "brick walling" effect as the vocals/horns/guitars/cymbals are all undistorted when I hear the distorted bass. Could this just be the acoustics of the venue? Or perhaps it was distorted through the stacks at the venue as well. It was a *very* loud show, my ears will be ringing for hours. The recording was rather weak on bass, so I'd rather not set my roll off higher, I was wondering if anyone has seen this before. Thanks. Guest Anonymous
Were you using the line input, or the microphone input? BTW, the bass setting has nothing to do with the brickwalling effect you're hearing.
