pookyhead34
After talking garbage about LP4 for a long time, I started using it to make mix MD's to take with me on hikes. Considering the low bitrate (and its inherent limitations), I'm actually pretty impressed with it. Having a large number of MP3's that I download from emusic.com on a daily basis, I use LP4 so I can listen to as many of them as possible without having to switch discs. I've also started recording vinyl in LP4 mode, with surprisingly good results. (It's not audiophile quality, I know!) So how about YOU? KJ_Palmer
I use LP4 mostly for spoken radio shows or other voice applications (language tapes etc). I really can't find fault with it for that. I have 3 or 4 LP4 music mixes too, and while they're a bit on the rough side, they're fine for long trips. Otherwise SP and LP2 are the main modes I use. murasame_
Well, when I wanna have say 3 albums on a disc and the songs of the last album have 60 minutes but there's only 56 minutes left on MD, I'll use LP4 for the last 2-3 songs so that everything fits on one disc. Ziggy
I use lp2 or lp4 for lectures. I like the idea of keeping all my lectures on one disc instead of them being scattered in many discs. I'm not concerned about quality...its the content that matters
BJ
I'm a fan of Henry Rollins' spoken word stuff, and it's great to have five of his CDs on one MD I can keep in the car--I don't need jacket art or rich bass sound. Also great for George Carlin or any other standup routines. I'm meaning to put together an LP4 mix of oldies (when the fidelity wasn't that great anyway)--think how many 2 minute oldies I can cram onto one MD!!
