Anyone have a suggestion of how I could convert a track from MD to mp3 on a Mac ? I'm not sure how to do this... All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This Imic thing...can someone just explain to me in really simple technophobe terms how it works before I splash out on a Mac on the premise that I'm going to be able to record my entire MD collection onto a Mac using it? I need a Mac for work purposes, and I do like the idea of having all those tracks on an Ipod, but my large MD collection would go to waste unless there's a fairly painless way of getting it all up on to a Mac and then back onto an Ipod. So a) do I need any separate leads to connect a MD recorder to an Imic and then into a Mac, and cool.gif if I do that and then transfer it all back onto an Ipod, won't I have lost a lot of quality just to have a lot more songs on a slightly smaller thing?

The other alternative is that I just forget about work purposes and just get a PC for home, and forget about the lovely Ipod as well...which is better / easier, a PC / MD interface or a Mac / Ipod one? Given that my MD isn't a net one so I probably wouldn't be able to use it to record off the web anyway?

So confused...any help gratefully received.
