After looking at various MiniDisc players (decisions, decisions), the Sharp IM MT899H is the one I think I'm gonna go for?

Has anyone got this machine or used it - is it any good for live recording? What mics would you recommend (small jazz clubs/band practice sessions)

Well, after spending days reading various reviews etc I decided to go for the Sharp Net MD IM MT899HS.

Great - except it's now been discontinued! Any suggestions what I can get instead? Here's the spec.
