Are any of these units any good, and do they compare favourably with the Sony MZN910 / MZN10..... or do they fall miserably short when it comes to a challenge to Sony's crown. I need a Net MD, and have four in mind... I live in the UK, and can get the MT880 , MZN910 and MZN10 here easily... The Panasonic SJMR250 i will have to ship in from elsewhere... Christopher Posted June 3, 2003 Report Share Posted June 3, 2003 Hm. After looking at the specs.. The Sharp has a 5mW output, compared to the 3.5mW output of the Panasonic. The Panasonic has much longer battery life than the Sharp. The Panasonic weighs less than the Sharp. The Panasonic has a charging stand that has speakers and a titling buttons, and the Sharp just has a charging stand. If the Panasonic had a 5mW output I'd be all for it, but 3.5mW.. Guest Anonymous Posted June 22, 2003 Report Share Posted June 22, 2003 i'm sorry this may come too late - the 3.5mw output is for 25ohm headphones. sony headphones are 16ohm, if you used these you would get 5mw output or more. Panasonic equiptment is usually loud anyway, and the supplied headphones are sensitive and have a good output usually. Just so you know.... other sources say this is a loud minidisc too also panasonics don't roll off the bass as the volume increases like sonys do (at full volume there is practically no difference between full bass and bass setting 2 on my sony MD) I'm thinking of purchasing this MD at the end of the summer, or the 230.
