N910 doesn't stop when source does during sync record

Hey guys, I'm a newbie here, so be gentle please tongue.gif

Anyway, when sync recording on my Sony MZ-N910 using the digital in, the unit doesn't stop recording after 3 seconds of no signal (like it's meant to). It looks like it has, the LED flashes, the unit says it's stopped recording, but in actual fact the unit continues recording silence until it is turned off (either automatically or manually).

Is this a problem common to all 910 units? Or is it just mine that's messed up? I've had portables before, and the sync record works absolutely fine with my N707 (so I know it's not a problem to do with my setup) but I do know that it's a relatively new unit, so it is quite possible it has a bug.

Anyway, any feedback would really be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I don't know if it's all of them, but you can certainly get it repaired, because it's not working in the way which the manufactor has said (in the instruction booklet it says that the recorder should start and stop in time with the source) so do it. I've just sent mine back, and I'm getting it replaced with another unit, so I'll see how that works out, and post another reply here.

Welllllll I just got my replacement unit, and it has the exact same fault. It does seem like this fault is inherent to all the N910 units...

!"£$%^&*()

I tried ringing Sony customer support, but they're absolutely usesless. So, I'm awaiting a call-back from Empire Direct to see what they say.

I think I may just give up the goat though.. I mean.. even with this fault, it's still probably the best recorder on the market (I mean, it's a N10, but with decent battery life)
