Sharp and RE50B

Hi,

I am considering purchasing the Sharp DR480H, the newer version of the DR7. I had intended coupling this MD with the Electrovoice RE50B until I read about hissing sounds when using this mic on the newer Sharp models. Does that go for the DR480h? Could you recommend another mic for the Sharp that offers the recording quality of the Re50? Or should I be considering another Minidisc?

As an alternative, I read about the Beyer M58. While some say its great, I have also read that the sound quality is "muddier" than the RE50B?

I am a novice to the MD. I am a print journalist, but I am hoping to use the MD for radio work. I will also be looking for a stereo mike. I was thinking about the ECM MS 907. One of the outlets online recommended the ECM-MS957. I don't know ANYTHING about that.

I have a Sennheiser MD 46 (a b-stock from Full Compass). It has a wonderfully rich warm sound with my Sharp MD-MT770. The mic has a cardiod pick-up pattern which is great for reducing ambient noise (except when you actually want ambient sounds such as recording a conversation or interviewing someone when you want to record the sounds of what they are doing.

A Sony EMCMS907 seems to record groups well in stereo; less well in mono mode.

I have some SOUND PROFESSIONALS LOW NOISE IN-EAR BINAURAL MICROPHONES SP-TFB-2 which record things just exactly the way you hear them but you can't monitor with headphones while you are using them.

I am very happy with the Sharp MD-MT770 but the DR-7 has some advantages and would like to have one.
