Guest Anonymous
I need some advice on the settings for the above model, with a good quality sony microphone (I don't remember the model, but it's the $70 one that looks like a T). My gf wants to record this concert, and she is abroad, so I can't really check it out now. Is there a mic-sens setting in there, like in my MZR-909? and if so, on what setting should she put it on for a loud rock concert? Thanks for your help. Noam. Tell her to adjust the level manually. If she doesn't need to go into pause mode, great, if she needs to, it would help if there were a support band, to set the levels correctly. For a very loud show, a battery box would help.

It has two problems that make it less than perfect for live recordings. The first is the fact that in order to adjust the recording level manually, you have to put the unit into record-pause mode. The second problem is that the automatic level control is slow, so a sudden change in input level can cause the recorder to become overloaded, and recorded audio gets distorted Anyway, using the autolevel ruins a recording.
