Astroboy
Can someone simply give me the pros and cons of each software available. I've found after much messing about: SONY SONICSTAGE- Impressive looking but far too user unfriendly with an akward checkin/checkout system. SIMPLE BURNER- Only good for simple CD->MD but track names showed as blacked out in my XP. REALONE [+NETMD CODEC]- Slow load up times and annoying 'My Library' that constantly needs refreshing. You cant retitly off MD but you can title clips to be added in the library section. You can't change order of tracks on MD. but you can add any audio clips, and burn to MD with options to change atrac quality etc. Can anyone improve this naming the software or others, what extras are needed, simply listing pros and cons without jargon and then possibly urls for s/ware? The software out there right now doesnt seem so great. I wish for the simplicity of burning audio CDs out of Nero or playing about with MP3s on a USB memory device like a hard drive. I hate all this talk of having to use 3 different softwares for one task. It's like encoding or converting DivXs to SVCDs, having to learn and use all these long winded different programs! After having my MVN710 for only a few days I'm already wondering if I should of bought a mp3 player with a memory stick. Anyway can anyone help and put up a simple pros and cons list of software available. Cheers
tmeg
m3u2sb + daemontools + simpleburner: pro: track names, no track protection (deletion of songs with portable possible) con: a little bit slow compared to other methods, a two step work, first create audio images, then launch simpleburner realone: pro: does not crash as often as a not updated sonic stage or open mg, no check-in, check-out problems - checkout as often as you like con: slower than sonic stage or open mg if you use the option to delete the omg files imeadiatly (has to be re-encoded if you transfer again), track-protection sonic stage, open mg: pro: high speed (if you have N10 or N910 you can avoid TOC update by converting the first song of a playlist first, then check-out), direct ripping of audio cd --> creation of omg files and checkout at the same time quite stable if you apply all available updates con: track protection, used disc space is very high (duplicate sound files mp3->omg) I think thats all. I use Sonic Stage for Audio Albums where I know all tracks are good. m3u2sb+sb for mp3 files I downloaded, so I can delete bogus files if neccessary very easily. I hope this helps. chris
