Well, I just learned that I've been hired to work as tech support for a local ISP, which = more $$$. I'm cutting the fat and I'll be upgrading to units that I never dreamed of having.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but what's your opinion on the R500? What value would you put on it? Just curious.

Without the capability to handle a remote [once you expierience a backlit remote, you NEVER go back] or the ability to record with a microphone, it not very valuable to me.

But that's me, because sometimes I like to record me + my friends for memories and to have a remote makes it much easier to operate [and reduces stress on the buttons; sony portables are notorious for buttons going arwy after consistant use].

Whilst the unit can be hacked, most of the functions accessible from the hack aren't available due to the lack of remote support.

Everything else about the unit is nice, and it has a decent battery life.

$50 - $75 tops.

You had a straightforward deal.
