Guest Anonymous Posted September 14, 2003 Report Share Posted September 14, 2003 Hi i have just recorded a live performance ( always the case ! ) and even though the disc recorded fine - and acknowledges there is 79.32 minutes worth of data on it ( new disc used ) it wont play the disc ? All my other discs are fine so its not the player. Panosonic SJ-MR200 portable. It starts to look like its playing but where the time would normally appear and count down the seconds - the time doesn't appear like its stuck ? Any advice appreciated. Guest Anonymous Posted September 16, 2003 Report Share Posted September 16, 2003 If the recording was made on the portable, I'd say the portable is developing problems with the recording laser. It is a common problem with portable recorders in that the recording head becomes misaligned after a heavy drop or the recording laser is simply weakening due to old age. It seems like everyhing records fine, but when you go to playback, all sorts of wierd shit happens, and it will get progressively worse. Symptoms include disk getting "stuck" at certain points, in the worst case, you'll end up with a blank disk or disc err after completing a recording.
