Hi I'm trying to use the s/pdif-in option of my motherboard

(GA-7VAXP rev1.1 & Bios F9) without success.. The bracket is connected to "spdif-in" on the motherboard, but when i try to record under Windows XP (i tried several programs), it doesn't record anything when i select spdif-in as source. I want to put minidisc recordings back into my pc (from my Sony deck's optical output to the motherboard's optical input). I saw on some newsgroup that a guy had the same problem, with exactly the same motherboard, but no one had given any solution. My onboard audio driver is up-to-date (Realtek's AC'97).

The windows sound manager grayed out the s/pdif option so I can't change the volume which is in the middle.

There is not much info on the s/pdif-in option of the motherboard in the manual or the internet. I figured the bracket changed to "input" when i connected it to spdif-in on the motherboard, am i right? otherwise, i would have to buy a 3rd party bracket?

The output works perfectly

All my drivers are up-to-date

I'm using Windows XP SP1

AMD Athlon 2200+

ATI Radeon 9000 pro 128MB DDR

768MB DDR400

Thx for helping
