Guest Anonymous
Hi, Im looking to purchase a portable minidisc player, for sampling of multiple things, such as room ambience, nature sounds, and also specific sounds, such as knocking a piece of wood on metal (for example) Im going to be using the samples for sound design and sound effects. I need this to be a reliable player... so I am flexible on the budget... but I dont want to go over $400 USD if possible. Thanks in advance! -K
memoryman
Sharp is your best bet unless you want to drop $1500 or so on the HHB Portadisc (worth every penny, but it's alot of pennies). I use an MD-DR7 for exactly the same use, and the 1-bit output amplifier makes a difference in quality when transferring to PC for editing, etc. Also very reliable, and Sharp's manual record levels are best for getting best results w/ variety of sounds.
